Hello Friends........it's Doug (aka worst updater ever! lol).....sorry bout that kids....anyway what's going on with me? In case any of you didn't know.....I'm in philly this semester at Temple for at least a semester, and the time I have spent here has been incredible. It's a completely different experience then i had ever experienced at Grantham. Never a dull moment in Philly....that's for sure. I do miss all of you though and hope everyone has a great start this semester. before i forget....here's the contact info if you're interested

2026 N. Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19121
215-684-7424* (grantham peeps only have to dial 7424*)

So classes this semester are pretty sweet. I'm finally taking some classes towards my specific field of study that I want to pursue after college. I'm so excited. So I'll sign off now but I'd love to hear from any of you and again I miss ya all a lot. Snail mail is great and calls are even better! God Bless and I will see ya'll soon!

Doug

P.S. I will be on campus at Grantham September 23-25.

Hello my old friends......it's been a long time.....sorry bout that lol. I have no real excuse why I haven't been updating....i've just been major slacking haha. First of all I hope everyone's summer is swell....mine has been a wonderful blessing. I'll give ya an update since....well i guess since the end of the school year haha. I'll try to keep it short. God has blessed me so much this summer. The end of the school year I was still looking and praying for "THE INTERNSHIP".....my prayers were answered. God gave me an opportunity to work in Manhattan at a company called Medialink. It's a Broadcasting Production company......perfect since my major is broadcasting lol. My neighbor actually informed me of this possible internship because the director was a good friend of his. God works in amazing ways. I'll be honest, though, the guys that  I work with  really need the Lord. I've had a few opportunities to share my faith with them.....Praise God. Keep prayin that I be the witness for these guys at work. The hours are long (7am-7pm), but for the most part, the internship is amazing. And the commute is quite interesting sometimes lol.

I went to creation at the end of June. One of the most incredible weeks of my life. God was so present in that place. I went with a few buds from home and hung with some peeps from messiah (cj, molly, nate, rb, liz, liz, joe, jim, kelly...the list goes on....it was pretty crazy).

Last summer I worked in a Christian Camp bubble and then lived in one at Messiah.....now I'm in the real world...and temptations are all over. It's so easy to become lax in your faith because you're not surrounded by believers on a daily basis....and the devil tries to get ya. I feel so blessed that I'm part of an accountability group of my best friends from home. They have helped me so much.

With that, my friends, I miss you all a lot, and hope to see you again soon. Hope you all are having a blessed summer and a wonderful fall at Messiah. I will be attending Temple for the fall semester and who knows what will happen spring semester. It's up in the air.

Keep the faith ya'll.

In his love,
Doug

What's up ya'll! Wow....haha....i'm really bad at updating lol....sorry bout that....anyway I had an amazing weekend. Friday started off with me and the crew hittin the hip-hop dance show "Shakin' Da Grounds".....and they did a great job.....i wasn't sure what to expect but it turned about to be really good....after that i got my salsa groove on at the union....then.....to top it off.....one of my fave guys came up to see me and justin for the night.....KEV.....we stayed up wicked late and caused some ruckus....good times...good times....the next day my friend yasmine came up  who i haven't seen in like  so  that was soo much fun. We hit the twang ....did the sidekick....more fun times.....and hit the diner. sunday  UVP (our gospel  choir)  hit up easton, pa all day long.......it was a lot of fun....but just extremely long....but it's all good......God was  working that night at the concert....AMAZING!......It turned out to be an awesome weekend.....but not extremely productive.....which is what  i'm working on haha......anyway ......WHAT UP SPRING!  i was loving this weather today......BEAUTIFUL....praise the LORD.....i've been waiting for this to come for sooooo long haha......well  i'm about to hit the sack  right about now.....but  I hope you all have an amazing night and a blessed week.....GOD is Good all the time......i'll try to update this more often....but holla at me any time you'd like.....i just wanna leave  ya'll with lyrics to this great song by Jack Johnson called Cookie Jar

Cookie Jar - Jack Johnson

I would turn on the TV but it's so embarrasing
To see all the other people I don't know that they mean
It was magic at first when they spoke without sound
And now this world is gonna hurt you better turn that thing down
Turn it around

"It wasn't me", says the boy with the gun
"Sure I pulled the trigger but it needed to be done
Cause life's been killing me ever since it begun
You cant blame me cause I'm too young"

"You can't blame me sure the killer was my son
But I didn't teach him to pull the trigger of the gun
It's the killer on this TV screen
You cant blame me its those images he seen"

Well "You can't blame me", says the media man
Well "I wasn't the one who came up with the plan
I just point my camera at what the people want to see
Man it's a two way mirror and you cant blame me"

"You can't blame me", says the singer of the song
Or the maker of the movie which he based his life on
"It's only entertainment and as anyone can see
The smoke machines and makeup
Hey you cant fool me"

It was you it was me it was every man
We've all got the blood on our hands
We only receive what we demand
And if we want hell then hells what well have

And I would turn on the TV
But its so embarrasing
To see all the other people
I don't even know that they mean
And it was magic at first
But it let everyone down
And now this world is gonna hurt
You better turn it around
Turn it around

What's up ya'll......hope everyone had a wonderful break.....and a very Happy Easter! This break was kind of productive i guess haha.....went to do some job hunting and internship hunting.....i guess i never really realized how it is to find a job/internship in your field until i began searching.....i wanna get into the music industry but as far as getting an internship in the field you need a lot of experience and networking's such a big issue.....i just hope it all works out.....but if it's not God's plan....im alright with that......one thing i wasn't productive in is class work....it feels like i have so much time to work on things but i just slack off.....im still growing out of my procrastination attitude that was started in college lol.....anyway on a brighter note i got to hang with my family this weekend.....it's not often that we get to do that and im so glad i get the opportunities i do.....and it's funny how i go to the same school as my older sis but i see here hardly ever....im gonna miss her when she moves out in may......graduation....don't even wanna think about it.....hs went slow and i was so ready to get out.....i've only been at messiah almost two years and i want to go here for 4 more......im so excited for philly though...i think that'll be an amazing experience....as well as the possibility of goin to England next spring....we shall see. Well i've gotta head to bed....but have a blessed night.

Doug
